When it comes to citations, you can think of these using the acronym, NAP; Name, Address, and Phone Number. Similar to backlinks, the more areas on the internet which contains your businesses name, address and phone number (NAP), the easier it will be to find your company online.

A primary example of a citation would be the listing of your NAP on Yellowpages or another type of online directory.

Citations are one of the main factors in ranking your GMB. The more citations you have the better your GMB will be able to perform and the more likely your business is to be found through online searches.
